Sunshine

It was a gorgeous day here today. The sun is so uplifting and energizing. I had a great day with the family.

The amount of protein my body needs is still haunting me. I read over 25 websites with somewhat the same  information and finally just went to the government website and looked up the RDA. It’s 46 grams for women. And that also means that my amino acids will be low. So, as long as I am getting 46 grams or more I am not going to worry about it, at least for now.

Let’s just cut to the chase about food and nutrition for today. Today wasn’t the best day nutritionally. I am low in calcium and potassium and way over in fat. I ate good food just not my usual big salad. I also didn’t drink my extra cup of almond milk or eat my cauliflower. I guess I just wanted something different.I went over in calories by 235. Not bad at all.

I made tostadas for dinner. I made mine with refried beans, onions, tomatoes and made guacamole to go over the top. It was so yummy! I do believe it was better than the ones I usually make with meat and cheese. These new ones will definitely be on the menu again!

Oh and before I forget, I took the watermelon and froze it and then made a smoothie out of it – heaven on a hot day!
